Light, form, and space — the fundamental visual elements of architecture — are also the tools of our trade. Whether the assignment is a single photograph or a multi-day, multi-site shoot, we strive to apply a creative approach to lighting and composition that both reveals and reinforces the designer’s intentions.
Understanding those intentions in-depth is crucial to intelligible, visually pleasing architectural photography, so we typically recommend a pre-shoot walk-through to scout potential shots and lighting considerations. This is most easily accomplished for local sites, but travel is never a problem for us. Our work has taken us from coast to coast throughout the US and abroad.
When Time is of the Essence…
We frequently use two assistants, which allows us to maximize both productivity and creativity in the allotted time. When an even greater number of images must be produced in a short time, whether due to site constraints or tight deadlines, associate photographer Todd Mason can concurrently work the site. Intimately attuned to Barry's working methods, Todd's second camera unit can dramatically expand the creative possibilities achievable in a brief time.
Associate Photographer
Todd Mason is also available to photograph your project at our associate photographer rate. With over five years of experience as a professional photographer, the last two working in close collaboration with Barry, his work fully represents the ideas and problem-solving approach of this studio and reflects the same exacting standards of quality.
In-House Digital Post-Production
For maximum timeliness, quality, and control over our finished product, we maintain a complete suite of high-end digital processing equipment, up-to-date software, all diligently calibrated to the strictest of industry standards. We employ a full-time staff of retouching experts enabling us to offer premium scans, digital prints, and retouching services on even the tightest deadlines.
As part of our commitment to provide the highest quality imagery, we use the latest and best cameras, lenses, and digital capture devices on the market today.
Fully Staffed Studio and Office
Our clients’ offices are staffed full-time, and so are ours. When you call to arrange a portfolio review, order prints, or request last-minute changes to a shoot schedule, you’ll find a dedicated studio or lab professional on the line – not an answering machine or a freelance assistant. This full-time, full-service commitment is just another aspect of our total quality approach to your needs.
